Tomás has extensive experience as a defence counsel and plaintiff lawyer in high-profile human rights cases, including crimes against humanity and other offences regulated under the Rome Statute. He has worked on both national and international cases, advocating for victims of gross human rights violations and transnational crimes at FIV and at Estudio Durrieu, in Argentina. His work includes litigation before the International Criminal Court and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, where he has contributed to securing remedies for victims and advancing the enforcement of international human rights standards. His practice reflects a deep commitment to justice, accountability, and the protection of fundamental rights in the context of some of the most severe violations of international law.
Tomás holds a law degree and a specialisation in Criminal Law from the Argentine Catholic University of Argentina and is currently a PhD candidate in Criminal Law at the University of Buenos Aires. Alongside his professional work, he has taught courses on General Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, and Constitutional Safeguards at Argentine Catholic University. He is currently an adjunct professor in the Money Laundering course at UBA and a tutor for the Legal Writing and Research course at Argentine Catholic University. An accomplished academic, Tomás has authored numerous articles, book chapters, and conference papers on topics such as crimes against humanity, transnational crimes, money laundering, and white-collar crimes, contributing significantly to the study and practice of human rights law.
